Google Chrome Remote Desktop Review

I continue to be fascinated at the rate at which technology develops.   I write specifically today of remote desktop software developments.  For the layman, remote desktop software, would, for instance, allow you to allow me to take control of your computer from my computer and help you with any problems you may have such as viruses, spam, or software updates to name only a few.

It used to be that you had to install a stand alone piece of software that would allow you to remotely connect to another user's computer.  Such programs still available today (and that are often provided free for personal use) include the likes of TeamViewer, and LogMeIn to name a couple with which I am familiar or that I have used personally.  You can Google "remote desktop software" to your hearts content and find many offerings.

Today, if you are a Google Chrome browser user (like me), you can simply visit the Chrome Web Store and find and install Chrome Remote desktop, and browser add-on that allows you to connect remotely to other PCs that are also running this same browser and add-on.  Set up is incredibly simple and using the software is just as easy.

Personally,  I like being able to leave my desktop computer in a particular state and be able to access it remotely from my laptop from another location at a later time.  Of course, you can password protect your system to prevent unauthorized access.  You also have options available to you to adjust the screen size to your preferences.

It continues to amaze me how tightly integrated cloud applications and something as simple and longstanding as the Internet browser can be made become such essential and powerful tools.  Happy computing!
